Hope

There is always hope. This ATC was made by Shelly Hinkle, who is an excellent artist. The stamps are from My Paper Moon. The awareness ribbon stamp comes in 2 sizes and has a sheet that tells what all the different colored ribbons mean. You can buy the stamps singly or in a set

I finally got to press some rubber on Sunday. My vulcanizer resides on my screened in back porch, but with all the water we got from Tropical Storm Fay, my porch was wet and I couldn't plug the vulcanizer in. It finally dried out enough yesterday to press the stamps I needed for some orders. So if you have an order in house, it's done and ready to ship.

Hope you have a wonderful day...

Pearlized Gesso

Good evening. I hope you had a productive day today. Mine was so-so. I slept late, which I don't like to do, because then I can't go to sleep tonight, and it's just a vicious cycle, so that on Monday I don't want to get up for work. On a good note, though, it didn't rain today, so maybe everything can get dried out.

I got some new cuttlebug embossing folders today from an online store, and when I got my order I had purchased and paid for 2 of the same folder, the Holly one. So, if you would like to purchase it for what I paid for it, plus shipping to you, please email me at mypapermoon512@aol.com.

This is a card I made using a technique called Pearlized Gesso from the Technique Junkie newsletter. You can't see from the scan, but it's very shimmery from Pearl Ex that was brushed on the gesso. It's very pretty in real life.

Hope you have a crafty weekend...

Sunshine

Woohoo! The sun is out for the first time since Tropical Storm Fay paid us a visit. It's wonderful! We got over 2 feet of rain in our area, and at one point I thought I was going to have to get a boat to get off my street. For a tropical storm, she sure dumped a lot of rain in our area.

This adorable card was made by Michelle Zindorf, using the baby image, I Can Spell, from My Paper Moon. Michelle is a wonderful artist, and I'm thrilled that she uses my stamps in her tutorials from time to time. Due to the overwhelming response I got to the image, it's currently out of stock, but if you email me at mypapermoon512@aol.com, I will put you on the list to be notified when they are restocked.

I'm going out to enjoy some of the sunshine. Hope you have a crafty weekend, and we'll talk again soon.

Yikes! It's WET here!

Wow! Have we been getting some rain from Tropical Storm Fay! It started night before last, when the wind started picking up and the rain started. It gusted and stormed and rained all day yesterday, all night last night, and it's still storming today. Fay is less than 50 miles from us as I write this, and she's really showing herself. The kids were out of school yesterday, and I'm thinking they should have been out of school today, too. It's blowing more now and more steadily than it did yesterday. Not a day to be out on the roads.

I'm glad I didn't name this lady Fay. This is Rachel, and she bids you hello. This is another of the cards I made with the Making Memories paper. The "hello" are stickers that came with the paper pack. The ribbon matches more closely in real life.

I'll be back hopefully tomorrow to share another card made with the same paper.

Good morning!

Good morning! I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. I went with my daughter to get school clothes for my granddaughters. That was fun. Expensive, but fun! While I was out, I got some new papers from Making Memories. The card below uses 2 of the designs.

You can't see from the scan, but the angel is colored with markers then glitter added to make her shine. The image is from My Paper Moon. The "wish" is a stamp from The Angel Company, and is outline in white dots. I made this card for a friend who has had some battles with illness. I hope it brightens her day.

It looks like we will be getting some rain for a few days as tropical storm Fay approaches the Florida coast. I live on the east coast, but you can rest assured that we will get lots of rain.

School started today. The oldest granddaughter is starting middle school/junior high. She's excited, although she hates being a small fish in a big pond. The littlest granddaughter starts kindergarten tomorrow. And boy, is she ready! She has wanted to go to school for 2 years. She will be in a multi-age class and have the same teacher for 2 years. And she loves her teacher, so this should be a good year.

This week only I am offering 10% off your entire purchase at My Paper Moon. Please use coupon code TSF10 at checkout. This coupon is valid through 8/24, and you MUST put the code in at checkout. I can't change the cart once it's completed, so make sure you enter the code to get your discount.

I hope you have a crafty day!

Website Facelift

I am sooooo excited. My website, http://www.mypapermoon.com/, got a facelift. It's BEAUTIFUL! Check it out and let me know what you think! The designer and I have been working on it for a couple of days, but it's finally done!

This is something I have wanted to do for a while, and decided to just finally go ahead and do it. And I'm glad I did.

Talk to you soon!

Christmas Cards

Yeah, I know it's only August, but I figured if I worked on my Christmas cards, I would be cooler. So, here is one of the Christmas cards I will be sending out this year.

This is a Joy Fold card, and the dimensions and instructions can be found in the newsletter archives at Splitcoaststampers. The poinsettia was colored with copic markers, and there is gold glitter in the center. The background for the poinsettia is a polished stone technique and has gold running through it. I liked the fact that I could use 2 different Christmas patterned papers and it still looks good.

This is a fun technique, and I've already used it several times.

Hope you are having a crafty day!
