Another Autumn Card

Hello!

I recently bought some of those little $1.00 clear stamps. I usually don't like them, because they are usually pretty crappy to stamp with, but I found a set I like, so I thought I'd share the card I made with them.

This is a very simple card. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir markers. The little "Autumn" saying I stamped, cut out with Spellbinders dies, then attached with pop dots.

Hope you enjoy your day.

Inky hugs,

I love Autumn

I love autumn.  There is just something about that time of year. The cooler mornings, the leaves changing colors.  I just love it.  Of course, in Florida, we don't have the crispness of the air like in, say, New England, but you can still smell the "newness" of the air. It's not so humid, it's not so hot. And you know it's just a matter of time before the weather gets cool enough to turn off the A/C and open the windows and let the cool breeze blow through the house. Mmmmmm....I love autumn.

And autumn leaves.  Here is a small stamp I got from The Angel Company several years ago.  I like the smallness, since you can use it so many ways.

(The scan is crooked, not the card.)  Anyway. the background for the leaf was made by stamping the handwriting stamp on glossy cardstock with Versamark. I dried it with my heat gun, then used alcohol inks to color the cardstock. I like the way the Versamark resisted the alcohol ink.  Then I stamped the little leaf, and "painted" it with alcohol ink and blending solution.  I layered that on a piece of brown cardstock that I had run through an embossing folder in my Cuttlebug, then used a dark brown ink to  highlight the raised parts.  Then I layered in on another piece of brown cardstock, and onto a piece of patterned paper.  I added the pearls to give it a little interest. Lots of textures going on here, but it was a fun card to make. And easy, really.

What is your favorite season of the year?

I hope you have a crafty day...

Autumn Cards

Good evening.  It's been a while since I last posted, and tonight seemed like a good time to rectify that.  Since that time Halloween has come and gone (both granddaughters had strep throat and didn't get to go trick or treating), I've participated in a virtual stamp convention over at Rubber Stamp Chat, we've had an election, and I'm finally settling back into the routine.

I have made a couple of autumn cards, so I'll share those with you:

Both of these cards use a leaf set from The Angel Company, which is my favorite autumn stamp. I have had this set for 5 or 6 years, so I'm not even sure if they are still available.  I used alcohol ink for the colored background, then stamped my favorite leaf stamp.  On the first card I just cut the stamped background into squares and put them on the card. I used some fibers I've had for some time.  (Just trying to get rid of stuff).

On the 2nd card I made the background the same way, colored it with alcohol ink, then stamped the leaf.  I punched this set out with a scalloped punch, and tied raffia around the background.

I hope you have a great week, and I hope you get to do something crafty.

Inky hugs,
