Confused...and the story of the cat door

Boy, am I confused. I don't know what day I thought yesterday was, but this morning I thought it was Tuesday, and this afternoon I thought it was Thursday. I even did my Thursday Discussion of the Day for my Inky Stampin' Friends today. Then I had to go back and check to make sure I did my Commercials for the groups I'm in today. I will probably think tomorrow is Friday.

Made some logos for a church that I manage their website. I have 7 websites I take care of now. It's not a difficult job, just time consuming at times. I enjoy doing it though, so it's okay.

My catboys are driving me crazy. Let me tell you the story of their cat door. They used to have a cat door that came in our kitchen window. It was open all the time as it was under our screened porch, although it had an actual door that we could close and latch if we needed to. Hubby made them an entrance into the porch, then they would come up a ramp, into the kitchen, and then onto the floor.

Well, one night I was sitting at the kitchen table stamping (it was quite late - I couldn't sleep), and I hear a noise behind me. Thinking it's a cat, I take my time turning around, and lo and behold, there is an opossum in my kitchen sink, drinking water from a cup.

Scott was in bed, so I went yelling into the bedroom for him to get up and get the opossum out of the kitchen. They can be quite mean, you know, if you corner them, and they have sharp little teeth. I could just see myself getting rabies from an oppossum. NOT! Anyway, I couldn't get him to wake up, so back to the kitchen I went.

I started shooing the blasted thing out of the kitchen. It went straight to the cat door, opened it up and went down the ramp, leading me to believe it had been in my kitchen before. Needless to say, I closed and latched the door so it couldn't get back in. It tried, though.

So, we no longer have a cat door. And cats, being nocturnal, want to come in and out all night. So they sit under the bedroom window and meow until someone gets up and lets them in. And who do you think that is? Hmmmm???? Yes, it's me! Or mostly me. Occasionally Scott will hear them and let them in, but usually I am the door-person.

Monday - Monday - Monday

Well, it's Monday, and back to work time. After 4 days off, it's hard to get back in the grind. I think Rachel was almost late for school, but she was getting out of the truck as the bell rang, so maybe she made it.

Yesterday was such a weird day. Scott was going fishing early, and I had all these plans of stuff I wanted to do while he was gone. I remember getting up and letting Shadow, my cat, in at 8:30, then I went back to bed and didn't get up until 12:30 p.m.! So much for getting everything done that I wanted to do. Of course, then I couldn't go back to sleep last night. And this morning I didn't want to get up.

I'll have to find pictures of Boots and Shadow, our two cat-boys, so I can post them here. Sometimes I want to kill them (when they want to run in and out all night), but they are our 2 babies. They used to have a cat-door until I found an oppossum in my kitchen. That's a whole other story.

Need to go figure out what I'm putting on special this week. Gotta make some money.

My Saturday

This is a card I made using one of the new My Paper Moon images. I really like the way it turned out. I did it on watercolor paper.

Today was a good day. I finished reading a book I started yesterday, I worked on addressing my Christmas cards, got over half done, and went Christmas Shopping. I'm about 90% done on that, too, so life is good.

Scott built a fire in the firepit and grilled steaks for dinner. Yummy! They were good! We had twice baked potatoes, too.

Tomorrow he's going fishing in the morning and I'll work on my paperwork for awhile. I got the laundry done today, so tomorrow afternoon I'll be free to do whatever I want.

That's all for now. Nite nite.

Thanksgiving and Work

Well, as you can see, I didn't post yesterday, Thanksgiving. That's because we were having too much fun! We went to my daughter's house to spend Thanksgiving with her and her family (minus Rachel, who went to Orlando with her other grandmother). Christy (my daughter), cooked the turkey. Only she let some of the drippings run all over the oven floor. So, when they pre-heated the oven to put the rolls in, the oven caught on fire and blew the door open. Flames were shooting up. Fortunately Scott, my husband, was right there to close the oven door, which put the flames out. But the smoke detectors went off, which is a good thing, only with tile floor they reverberate. The house was filled with smoke, so we opened all the doors and windows for the smoke to billow out. I'm surprised the neighbors didn't call the fire department. We finally got to sit down to eat, by which time everything was cold, but it was good anyway. Then we all vegged out the rest of the afternoon.

Today (Friday) the weather can't decide if it wants to be warm or cold, but that's okay, I'm inside working my fingers to the bone. I installed a new copy of Quickbooks on my computer in August, so I'm having to re-create all the invoices and stuff from January 1 through July 31, because tax time is coming. That means entering all the inventory again, all the bills, all the orders. Ugh! It's not an easy job and will take me a couple more days working all day. Why do I decide to change versions in the middle of the year? Am I nuts? This was supposed to be a day off from work, and what am I doing? I'd rather be pressing rubber than bookwork.

Well, it's time to go back to work. Hope you got a lot of shopping done today.

Another Autumn Picture

Snow???? In Florida?????

Yesterday I told you it was cold. Well, it really was. According to the local news, there were snow flurries last night! I think it got down to a low of 36, but with a system of moisture moving in off the coast, the moisture turned to snow! I think I'll move south...

Today is an easy day. Which is good. I have a million things I need to be doing, and not enough hours in the day to get them all done.

I'm going to post another pretty autumn picture in a bit.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving...

Brrrr....Baby It's Cold Outside

Here's another fall picture. Pretty huh?

Brrrrr. It was way too cold this morning. I think it was somewhere in the 40's, which is pretty darned cold when you live in Florida.

So, I took Rachel to school, then came to work, and I'm all nice and snuggly warm, but it sure was hard to get out from under the covers this morning.

My brother brought me some snickerdoodles, and I'm munching on one now. For those of you who don't know what snickerdoodles are, they are scrumptious cookies, and he bakes tons of them for Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas, I have all my Christmas cards made. I made 50 this year, which aren't enough, but not everyone is getting a hand made one. Scott's friends will get a store bought card. I made all one design this year, which is something new for me. I usually get bored making the same thing over and over and over. So, I'm pretty proud of myself.

Do you have all your Christmas shopping done? I haven't even started. Oh, well, it will get done.

Hope you have a great day!

Fall Colors

These are some of the beautiful fall colors I was talking about. I miss this, living in the south where everything is green.
Hello and welcome to my new blog. Since this seems to be the rage, I thought I'd give it a shot. Here we can share techniques, tips and more, so why don't you come in, sit down, and chat awhile?

Thanksgiving is soon upon up and I love the fall colors. My favorite fall thing to stamp are leaves because of all the colors. I have a favorite stamp by The Angel Company that I use a lot, and it does well with a lot of different techniques. I'll have to hunt some of the cards up and post them so you can see the beauty.

What are you doing for Thanksgiving? We're going to spend it with my daughter and her family, and I plan on eating lots of turkey.
