If the shoe fits...

...buy it in every color!

I have a customer (male), who buys cards to send to his wife.  How dear is that?  He works away from home a lot, and I supposed this is his way of showing her he's thinking about her.  She loves shoes and purses, so I've made some shoe and purse cards.  I have the shoe stamps, but no purses, so I've made my own designs up.  Here are some of the designs I've made.  Think she'll like them?

He's been out of town, so I haven't gotten to show him these yet, but I think he'll be happy with them.  I've made about 12 cards so far, so this is just a sample.

Have a great weekend (and a Happy St. Patty's Day).

Rough dry skin

I thought I might share a little tip my chiropractor shared with me.

I have dry rough skin on my feet, especially my heels.  My chiropractor told me to get some of those rough gloves you use in the shower and scrub my feet with those to get rid of dead, dry skin.  Then every night I put Castor Oil on my feet and rub it in well. I then put cotton socks on.  I now have the softest skin I have ever had on my feet and heels.  This really works.  I know it sounds really yucky, but the results are worth it!

Do you have any tips or tricks to share with us?  Please leave them in the comment section.

Butterflies

Good afternoon.  I needed a quick pick-me-up card for my daughter, so I made her this butterfly card.  She's been going through some rough times and at work, and she really appreciated receiving it.

The background is patterned paper I picked up at Big Lots (I love their paper). I attached the butterfly so the wings are movable, and also added jewels for the body. The journey ticket actually matches the card better (I don't know what happened to the scan), and it was printed out on cardstock and then color added.

A quick card that did what I wanted...lifted my daughter's spirits.

Do something crafty!  :-)

Homemade Lip Balm

Good afternoon.  Hope the weather where you are is great.  It's supposed to be 87 degrees here today.  Sheesh. I don't like this hot weather in February. It's supposed to break the record for the hottest day in February today. What happened to our winter?  It hasn't even really been cold yet. If it's this hot this early, can you just imagine what our summer is going to be like?  I'm dreading it already.

Anyway, I found this recipe in the Farmer's Almanac, and thought it would be nice to share, especially with our ladies in the north where it's cold who get chapped lips.

Here is the recipe for Homemade Lip Balm.  You will need:

  • 1/3 cup melted beeswax
  • 1-1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon glycerin, USP, vegetable (you should be able to get this at the pharmacy).
And here is how you make it:
  1. Melt the beeswax over low heat in a double boiler
  2. In separate pan heat olive oil and glycerin, just to heat.
  3. Add beeswax to the olive oil and stir over low heat until combined.
  4. Pour into clean small glass jars or small tins. Allow to cool at room temperature, then seal with lids.

Happy Valentine's Day

This is the last of my valentine shares.  This is an ATC I made for my friend who collects them.

I really liked the way this one turned out.

Hope you have enjoyed my valentine's.  Have a fantastic Valentine's day.

Valentine's - Day 8

Day 8 is here...just to change it up a bit, I used stamps from The Angel Company for this card.

I love the little bees. This is a good card for my youngest granddaughter. She'll really like it.  Hope you do too.

Have a great day.

Valentine's - Day 7

Here is the 7th card I've made. Hope you like it.

The center of this card is also ATC sized.  I liked layering the different complementary cardstocks together.
