Embellished Embossing Folder

Hello!

Today I want to share a card I made using only an embossing folder and a punch and some markers.

(Click on image for a larger view)

I smeared some blue ink on glossy cardstock to simulate the sky.  Then I ran the cardstock through the Cuttlebug using tree embossing folder.  Then I colored the image using Bic markers.  I liked how it turned out, but I really wanted it to have a little more oomph to it, so I punched out some little flowers using some yellow scrap cardstock, then added orange glitter to the centers. I adhered these to the tree randomly, then added some green glitter to the leaves.  That was just what it needed.

I hope you have enjoyed.

Hope you have a stamp happy day!

Another Birthday Card

Good morning!  I think I've mentioned this before, but May is the month for birthdays in our family.  I didn't bore you with my hubby's birthday card, nor some of the others, but today I want to share my youngest granddaughter's birthday card. Her birthday is today.

Emilie is growing up and this is her last year in elementary school. Next year she will be attending the middle school.  It's hard to imagine that the girls are growing up.  Em was born on my birthday, and what a birthday gift she was.  Over 10 lbs. and a beauty.

Emilie likes to sing, so I used a music note for a background.

I used a digital image for the main image, and colored her with Copics and other markers.  There is a lot of subtle glitter and some shimmer on the wings, and glitter on the dress and flowers.  About the only thing not glittered is the skin and hair. :-)

I made some paper with the same colors using my gelli plate, and die cut that, then some polka dotted paper with the same colors, then I cut out my fairy image and pop dotted her so she would stand out.  I used the same paper on the inside of the card and stamped Happy Birthday.

Emilie also got a kitten, so she got pretty much the same cat paraphernalia that Rachel got, and I'm also sticking some money in her card so she can go shopping.  She likes to shop.  :-)

Have a stamp happy day.

Glittered Split Embossing

Good morning!

Today I want to post a card I made using 2 embossing folders and lots of glitter.

(click for a larger view)

I ran the top of the cardstock through a small dotted embossing folder.  Remove from the embossing folder and leave an area to stamp the image, then put the other end in a different embossing folder (I used a larger dotted folder) and run through the machine (I used a Cuttlebug) again.

I stamped and colored the image (from My Paper Moon stamps), then I put glitter on all the dots on the bottom of the cardstock and selected dots on the top of the card stock.
I used a green marker to draw a line to differentiate the areas.

Hope you give this technique a try...it's fun!

Have a stamp happy day...

Double Embossed Technique

Good morning!

Today I want to share the double embossed technique with you.

The card front is made on a single piece of cardstock. I put the top piece of cardstock in an embossing folder and ran through the Cuttlebug.  I turned the cardstock around and ran the bottom part through a different embossing folder (leaving some space in the middle to stamp).

I stamped the image 3 times on the cardstock and colored with markers.  Then I stamped the image 2 more times on a scrap of white cardstock, colored the centers and cut out. I adhered to the card using pop dots.

It's a very dimensional card, and you can use contrasting embossing folders and make it even more so.

Hope you have enjoyed.

Have a stamp happy day!

Watercolor/Paper Piercing Technique

Good morning!

Today I want to share a cool technique.

I stamped the image on the back of water color paper.  Then I used a paper piercer to pierce the outline. I turned the water color paper over, and watercolored the pierced image.  You will need to use an image that doesn't have a lot of detail, and this sunflower image from My Paper Moon worked well.  The sentiment was stamped on gold foil paper (which shows up brown in the scan) and cut out using a die, then attached to the card with ribbon.  An easy card to make, but looks  nice.

Birthday Card

Hello!  Today I want to post a picture of a birthday card I made for my granddaughter's 17th birthday, which is today.

I wanted to use bright, vibrant colors.  I colored the image, which is a digital image, with Copic markers. For the inside of the card, I made some psychedelic background papers using my gelli plate, and stamped Happy Birthday on it.

She recently got a kitten, and when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she said "cat litter".  So I got her a bag full of cat toys, kitten food, a play area for the kitten, and a bag of cat litter.  I will also tuck some money into the card for her to buy something for herself.

I hope you have a happy day!

Tag Flowers

Good morning!

Just a quick post today.  I wanted to share with you some tag flowers I made with a Quickutz die of some tiny tags.

I don't remember the name of the die, but there are 3 tiny tags on it, so I used all 3 to show you the flowers that can be made.  I apologize for the picture, the colors really don't do it justice.  I punched all 3 tags then ran them through an embossing folder to give them texture. I was able to fit them all in 1 folder with room left over, but you could use 3 different folders for contrast.  I especially like the one made from the oval tag. If you wanted a larger flower you could use a larger tag or die.

I hope you have a great weekend!
